All About That Rosemary

I’m not sure if its because Rosemary is the ONLY plant in my herb garden that actually survived this bizarre Non- Summer, Summer, or because I’ve over done it on other herbs, but I keep find myself reaching for the Rosemary to add to just about any dish I make these days! If you are one of those people currently cringing because you think Rosemary has too strong a flavor, try toning it down a bit and using just a few sprigs.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how just a small amount can elevate the flavor of almost any dish. Here are a few easy ways to incorporate Rosemary into your meals!
1.Salad Dressings. Add to any home made dressing. Take that simple weeknight side salad to another level by adding a few sprigs. Pairs so nicely with just a simple olive – oil and Lemon Juice combo!
2. Meat Marinades. This is one Richelle’s go- tos! Marinade chicken breast in a tbsp mustard, tbsp balsamic vinegar, a tsp honey and few sprigs of rosemary. Then, just bake in the oven or on the BBQ.
3. Cocktails! You had to know this was coming. I mean. We are the self proclaimed queens of the cocktail! Mackenzie came up with this Grapefruit- Rosemary Martini a few years ago and it is still one of her finest creations!
4. Potatoes. Dress up those weeknight spuds by tossing baby potatoes with olive oil, Salt + Pepper and a liberal sprinkling of Rosemary. Adds a whole new dimension to the starch component of your meal!
5. Veggie Side Dishes. LOVE LOVE LOVE Rosemary as an addition to other Oven Roasted Veggies. Cut a Butternut Squash in Half douse with Olive Oil, Salt + Pepper and Bake until Soft! Not a Squash fan? Try our “To Die For Honey- Mustard Carrotts” featuring, you guessed it, Rosemary!
